This opportunity includes bonuses for certain locations and experience: new mechanics in MKE, ORD and SLC qualify for $10,000 bonus with a commitment to work in that location for at least three years. Those with military A&P experience are also eligible for an additional $7,500 bonus . This role will help you gain new skills as you work nose-to-tail on our aircraft, belong to a world-class family of fellow mechanics, and have a crucial impact on the SkyWest operation. Primary job duties, qualifications, and requirements reflect the responsibilities of the role. Primary Job Duties As an A&P mechanic, you will work on the entire aircraft and effectively troubleshoot our growing fleet of CRJ200, CRJ700, CRJ900, and E175 aircraft. You will also: Troubleshoot all aircraft systems Make critical decisions regarding aircraft safety in a timely manner Be trained to perform all maintenance functions unsupervised, at any time Manage all documentation and paperwork, including parts paperwork Meet all FAA and Safety Requirements Hold a valid FAA-issued A&P Certificate Possess good troubleshooting skills Possess excellent communication and people skills Possess problem-solving and organizational skills Be willing to work night/third shift positions, including nights, weekends, and holidays Exercise good judgment in working with people in a team environment, as well as in aircraft maintenance and safety Preferred: CRJ and EMB experience Preferred: Be familiar with Company and Manufacturer Manuals Physical and Other Requirements Be at least 18 years of age Possess a valid, unrestricted driver's license Be able to read, write, and understand the English Language Be able to comfortably lift 60 lbs. routinely with or without reasonable accommodation This is a Department of Transportation safety-sensitive position Please complete the online application.
