Job Description
Wash Cycle Laundry are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant Assistant to support our finance and accounting operations. The ideal candidate will assist in managing day-to-day accounting tasks, including invoice registration, journal entry preparation, purchase order processing, bank and credit card reconciliations, and month-end close activities. This role is critical in ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance within the accounting function.
Responsibilities:
Invoice Management: Register and process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
Journal Entries: Prepare and post journal entries for expenses, accruals, and other routine transactions.
Purchase Orders: Assist in creating purchase orders and ensure proper documentation before sending them to suppliers.
Bank Reconciliation: Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions are properly recorded and discrepancies are resolved promptly.
Credit Card Reconciliation: Reconcile corporate credit card transactions, verify supporting documentation, and ensure proper coding of expenses.
Month-End Closing: Support the accounting team in closing the books, including reconciliations and adjustments.
Documentation: Maintain organized records of invoices, purchase orders, and supporting financial documents.
Vendor Communication: Coordinate with suppliers regarding purchase orders, invoices, and payment-related inquiries.
Support Team Projects: Assist in audits, reporting, and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
1+ years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping (internship experience acceptable).
Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles and journal entries.
Familiarity with accounting software and MS Excel.
Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Strong communication skills for interacting with vendors and internal teams.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar).
Knowledge of accounts payable processes and month-end closing procedures.
Problem-solving mindset with initiative to improve processes.
