Job Salary: $25 / hour. Full time 40 hours/week. No benefits.



Job Summary


Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking a driven and detail-oriented individual to join our Accounting and Finance team as a Summer Intern. This internship provides hands-on experience across a wide range of financial functions, including financial analysis, budgeting, reconciliations, reporting, and internal controls.


Guided by seasoned professionals, the intern will gain valuable insight into the operations of a dynamic federal contracting environment and contribute to impactful, real-world projects. The ideal candidate is curious, analytical, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced setting.

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline
• Foundational understanding of financial statements, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with familiarity in data organization, formulas, and basic financial analysis
• Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy in data entry and review
• Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
• Strong time management abilities with the capacity to prioritize and juggle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
• Willingness to learn and adapt to various accounting software platforms such as QuickBooks, Oracle, or SAP
• Genuine interest in areas such as financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and regulatory compliance
• Proven ability to work independently while contributing positively to team-based projects
• Demonstrated initiative, intellectual curiosity, and a strong desire for professional growth and development

Education / Certifications

• High school diploma and must be actively working on or have a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, business administration.

Security Clearance


Must be a U.S. Citizen. A high-level Department of Defense active security clearance may be required. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to government information.



Physical Requirements


Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner and that may include lifting to thirty pounds, as necessary.
