Accounting Consultant - hybrid in Anne Arundel County, MD

• Our repeat client is a well known manufacturing company, operating for over 70 years in Anne Arundel County
• Due to growth, they are looking to hire an Accounting Consultant skilled in GAAP to join their medium sized accounting team

• This is a project based opportunity expected to last 3+ months
• Schedule: Typically 7-4 or 8-5 M-F but very flexible. Ability to do four 10 hour days if desired.
  • Candidates must be comfortable with a few hours of overtime
• Position is hybrid in Severn, MD. They are flexible to do some work from home days if needed after training.

Job Responsibilities for the Accounting Consultant:

• Assist with running operations of accounting department
• Prepare financial statements
• Interface with auditors
• Participate in weekly cash flow projections
• Oversee the month-end and year-end close process
• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals
• Streamline and implement processes, policies and procedures, and internal controls
• Prepare budgets, financial statements and P&L statements
• Work with the IT external or internal team to bridge gaps in the accounting system

Qualifications for the Accounting Consultant:

• 5+ years' senior level accounting experience required
• Extensive knowledge of GAAP
• Experience in the manufacturing industry a plus
• Proficient Excel skill required; ability to do pivot tables a huge plus!
• Experience using SAGE 300 a plus
• Bachelors in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related a plus
