Additive Manufacturing Technologist
Key Role:
Plan, organize, and lead technical projects and phases of projects involving the design and development of new and improved products and processes. Analyze alternatives with a deep awareness of industry trends, leading companies, and leading consortium, university, and international laboratory activities. Serve as a technical lead on additive product development projects. Apply additive design tools, and generative design concepts specific to design for additive manufacturing ( DfAM ) using standard commer cia l sof tware. Collaborate with engineering teams and material scientists to identify and drive projects to enable increased usage of DfAM by facilitating communication and sharing best practices. Lead and guide team members and business unit teams in work verification. Support the integration of new additive manufacturing ( AM ) technologies and research, and introduce promising technologies to the AM support communities.
Basic Qualifications: \n - 2+ years of experience in the manufacturing technologies field
\n - 2+ years of experience with CAD and FEA
\n - 2+ years of experience with engineering systems, processes, controls, and quality best practices
\n - 2+ years of experience in interpretation of CAD drawings, post-processing requirements, and material requirements
\n - Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
\n - HS diploma or GED and 5+ years of experience in additive manufacturing, or Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of experience in additive manufacturing
\n

Additional Qualifications: \n - 5+ years of experience with AM sof tware packages, including simulation, slicing, and packing
\n - 5+ years of experience operating various AM machines and related post-processing equipment
\n - 5+ years of experience with CAD sof tware and modeling
\n - 2+ years of experience drafting and releasing Standard Operating Procedures
\n - Experience in leadership positions in Design Engineering, including AM
\n - Knowledge of mechanical engineering standards, material specifications, and participation in industry consortiums
\n - Experience in providing feedback of CAD drawings, including new material selection and determination of heat treatment c ond itions and processes
\n - Experience designing products for Laser Powder Bed Fusion ( LPBF ) , or Direct Energy Deposition ( DED )
\n - Bachelor's degree

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $61,900.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
