Reporting to the CEO, the Annual Giving Manager will lead the planning, execution, and evolution of The University of Winnipeg Foundation’s annual giving strategy, encompassing the Campus Campaign, Alumni Giving Campaign, Annual donor engagement and other annual giving initiatives. This is a pivotal role in a small but dedicated team, responsible for managing donor relationships, advancing online giving initiatives, and contributing meaningfully to the growth of individual giving programs.

With a marketing mindset and a donor-first approach, you will bring creativity, agility, and strong campaign writing skills to the table. You will have the opportunity to shape and scale annual fundraising efforts that support students, enrich our community, and help position UWF for long-term growth.

As the Annual Giving Manager, you will:

  • Lead the end-to-end execution of the UWF’s annual campaigns, including strategy development, campaign material creation, presentations, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Manage a donor portfolio through all fundraising stages—identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
  • Develop and implement online and crowdfunding strategies to support digital engagement and giving.
  • Analyze donor data, engagement levels, and campaign outcomes to continuously optimize messaging, segmentation, and strategy.
  • Collaborate closely with the CEO and internal stakeholders to align fundraising efforts with organizational goals.
  • Oversee communications related to donor inquiries, tax receipts, and stewardship follow-ups.
  • Input and maintain donor activity in the CRM system to ensure accurate, timely, and accountable records.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to the Fundraising Assistant, who reports into this position.
  • Contribute to a culture of collaboration, accountability, and shared success within a small, supportive team environment.

You and Your Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, or related field—or a strong combination of practical experience and education.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in fundraising, marketing, or campaign development. Post-secondary fundraising experience is an asset.
  • 2+ years of experience managing online giving platforms or crowdfunding initiatives is an asset.
  • Strong writing and storytelling skills, with demonstrated experience in creating compelling campaign content.
  • Comfortable using donor relationship management software; experience with Blackbaud’s Raiser's Edge™ is a strong asset.
  • Personable and donor-focused, with strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-starter with a collaborative mindset—able to manage projects independently while contributing to team-wide goals.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with evolving priorities.
