The Business Intelligence Developer provides customer-centric Business Intelligence solutions, contributes effective internal business decisions and supports our strategy to provide DentaQuest customers with insight.
The incumbent upgrades and modernizes the Enterprise's Business Intelligence environment.
This is a hands-on position, both developing and leading. The Senior Business Intelligence Developer works in a collaborative team environment with business partners, product owners and contract development teams.
This position leads and participates in the full development life cycle and in the creation and enhancements of Business Intelligence capabilities (create or modify reports, dashboards, scorecards, self-service, etc.) and developments our Business Intelligence solution(s).
Primary Job Responsibilities:
• Works day-to-day activities as assigned into Tier 2 - 4 support queue and provides direction to the BI extended team, including BI vendors.
• Demonstrates up-to-date expertise and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans.
• Participates in the discovery phase of small to medium-sized projects to develop high-level design
• Provides and supports the implementation of business solutions (e.g. develops data models, data movement processes, report development, etc.)
• Develops and supports the multidimensional semantic layer, meta-data, and BI query objects for end-user consumption.
• Writes complex SQL, MDX, DAX queries, stored procedures, and functions from our relational and dimensional databases and objects for end-user consumption.
• Perform analysis, research complex report and data inquiries and provide appropriate response to end user
• Collaborate with analysts and department leaders to design, build and customize reports and reporting packages using SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, Cognos, Tableau, and Power BI.
• Troubleshoots BI-related problems, fixes bugs and tunes for performance.
• Executes proof of concept to validate ideas or technologies.
• Ensures data accuracy for the reports and certify testing for all possible conditions.
• Models compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of excellence
