Cemetery Services Specialist (Groundskeeper)
Location :  Mt. Olivet Cemetery -  Wheat Ridge, CO
Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery | CFCS Colorado

 

*Must be at least 21 yrs old for insurance & Must have a valid driver's license*

 

Location: A lternate between two cemetery facilities, usually 5-6 weeks at Mt Olivet (Wheat Ridge) & 1 week at Saint Simeon (Aurora)

Days/Hours :  Monday - Friday (Saturday rotation) - 7:00am - 3:30pm

Hourly: $19

The Cemetery Services Specialist  reports to the Operations Manager and collaborates with the Irrigation Superintendent to efficiently manage the grounds services provided by the Cemeteries and Mortuaries as needed. As groundskeeper, you will perform all grounds keeping and maintenance matters on the properties. Your duties of groundskeeper must be performed consistent with company mission and values and adherence to company policies and procedures and in doing so uphold the social teachings of the Catholic Church (the Church).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

~ Set up for funeral services

~ Activate lowering device at gravesite

~ Verify gravesites

~ General cleaning and upkeep of cemetery grounds

~ Maintain stones and vases

~ Schedule dump truck to fill gravesite

~ Cross training on other facility needs 

~ Ditch and grounds cleaning

~ Review monument installation as requested

~ Distribute prayer cards to guests 

~ Observe safety rules and ensure compliance with the operating procedures of corporate, federal, state and local regulations, including OSHA regulations
~ Work order completion
~ Snow removal and the removal of ice from the grounds as needed
~ Help identify grounds and visitor needs and concerns and notify a supervisor as soon as possible
~ Be able to collaborate with the 3rd party landscaping company designated onsite
~ Ability to recognize sensitive information and adhere to strict confidentiality
~ Rotating gate closing responsibilities (hours are different)

~ Rotation to other locations

~ Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

REQUIREMENTS
* Minimum of 21yrs old for insurance purposes
* Valid Driver's License
* Pass Background Check

About us…

Mt. Olivet Cemetery   was consecrated in 1892 and is located on the western side of the Denver Metro area in Wheat Ridge, Colorado.  It is the largest cemetery in Colorado containing 392 acres.   St. Simeon Cemetery was consecrated in 2004 and is located on the eastern side of the Denver Metro area in Aurora, Colorado. The Mortuary has two locations. The first is located on the grounds of Mt. Olivet Cemetery and was opened in 1981.  The second was the recent acquisition of Caldwell-Kirk Mortuary.  These entities serve the Catholic Community of the Denver metro area and its various parishes, missions, and apostolates and other members of the general public regardless of their religious affiliation.
