Chief Product Officer (Project Management)

Leidos QTC Health Services within the Leidos Health & Civil Sector has an opening for a Chief Product Officer (CPO). This is a Vice President level role, reporting to the Leidos Health and Civil Chief Technology Officer.

The CPO is a senior-level executive responsible for overseeing the entire product development process, from vision to execution, ensuring timely and successful delivery of products. This role involves driving innovation, shaping product experiences, and making strategic product decisions that impact the company's growth. The selected candidate will play a critical leadership role in aligning product strategies with business goals and managing cross-functional teams.

We prefer candidates willing to be based in San Dimas, CA; San Antonio, TX; Nashville, TN; or Reston, VA. Some travel may be required to other company facilities or customer sites.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Leadership: Developing and implementing the product engineering vision, objectives, and roadmaps aligned with company strategy.
  2. Strategic Vision: Cultivate a strategic vision for the product, understanding how it fits into the overall company goals.
  3. Customer-Centricity: Develop a strong customer-centric mindset, focusing on creating products that meet real customer needs.
  4. Data-Driven Decisions: Become proficient in using data to inform product decisions and measure success.
  5. Product lifecycle: Own the entire product lifecycle—from ideation, to development, release, and iteration—ensuring smooth and efficient processes.
  6. Team Management: Oversee and develop engineering teams, including engineers, managers, and other relevant roles.
  7. Cross-functional Collaboration: Build strong relationships and ensure alignment across departments like product, design, marketing, and sales.
  8. Process Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in the product engineering process and implement solutions.
  9. Performance Measurement: Establish and monitor KPIs to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
  10. Innovation and Change Management: Drive innovation and lead organizational change to enhance the product engineering process.
  11. Customer and Industry Relationships: Build and maintain relationships with customers and industry experts to stay informed about trends and best practices.
  12. Budget and Resource Allocation: Manage budgets and allocate resources to ensure successful product delivery.
  13. Technology Strategy: Participate in defining and implementing long-term technology strategies aligned with business goals.
  14. Application Modernization: Must have experience with major mission-critical application modernization and cloud migration.
  15. Business Area Leadership Support: Consult with business leadership on solutions to customer problems and barriers.
  16. Technology Partnerships: Seek strategic partnerships with suppliers, universities, and research institutions to foster innovation and showcase technology.
  17. Talent Development: Recruit, develop, and mentor technical staff, including mid-to-senior level professionals.
  18. Collaboration: Lead technical collaborations internally and externally within Leidos and other organizations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Math, Science, Engineering, or related field with 15 years of relevant software development experience.
  • Experience leading large and complex product development teams.
  • Understanding of DevOps principles and practices.
  • Proven track record in accelerating product delivery, improving quality, and enhancing customer experience.
  • Experience translating product vision into data-driven insights and securing business buy-in.
  • Experience with low-code/no-code technologies and rapid application deployment.
  • Experience in anticipating customer needs and technological trends for market growth.
  • Hands-on experience with transforming mission-critical applications.
  • Knowledge of rapid, secure software development, cybersecurity, AI/ML technologies.
  • Enterprise IT experience in End User services, Cloud, Application Development, etc.
  • Strong communication and public speaking skills.
  • Ability to influence, persuade, and negotiate strategically.
  • Foundational certifications from AWS & Salesforce.
  • Ability to mentor and lead talent development.
  • Ability to obtain Public Trust security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD in Math, Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Advanced certifications from AWS & Salesforce.
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance.
