Position Overview:We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanic/Equipment Technician to perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and safety inspections on a wide range of motorized vehicles and equipment - including diesel engines, small engines, and heavy machinery. Every day brings a new challenge in this hands-on, fast-paced role.
Key Responsibilities:Perform repairs on vehicles and equipment including brakes, engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, transmissions, ignitions, and axle assemblies.
Conduct inspections and diagnostics to determine faults and implement efficient repair or replacement solutions.
Assist with equipment testing, safety certifications, and maintain accurate documentation.
Respond to internal service requests, diagnose issues, explain repair processes, and schedule necessary maintenance.
Perform welding, metalwork, and custom fabrication as needed.
Maintain detailed service logs and equipment records.
Diagnose and repair mechanical tools and machinery.
High school diploma or GED required.
Preferred: Formal technical training in auto or diesel mechanics (2 years).
Minimum 2 years of hands-on mechanic experience.
Experience with diesel and heavy equipment strongly preferred.
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Willingness to learn and adapt through on-the-job training.
Forklift operation and welding skills (preferred or willing to train).
Comfortable using diagnostic tools, tablets, and Microsoft Office.
Ability to operate trucks and equipment (light to heavy duty), hand tools, lifts, and hydraulic systems.
Clear verbal and written communication skills.
Safety-first mindset with a strong eye for detail.
Self-motivated and effective in both independent and team settings.
Regularly walk, climb, kneel, crouch, and reach above shoulders.
Lift up to 90 lbs. in various ranges (floor to overhead).
Push and pull up to 100 lbs. over specified distances.
Capable of working in physically demanding environments.
Exposure to loud noises, equipment vibrations, fumes, and airborne particles.
Frequent work near or with mechanical moving parts.
