Director/Associate Director/Manager of Business Development – San Diego

We are seeking 1-2 talented business development professionals at various levels to contribute to the success of our CRO operations and future strategic initiatives in the San Diego area.

About the Role:

As a Director/Associate Director/Manager of Business Development, you will be instrumental in driving the growth of ChemPartner's CRO services. Based in the San Diego area, you will develop and execute strategies to generate new business opportunities, strengthen client relationships, and position ChemPartner as a preferred partner in the CRO industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute business strategies to identify and pursue new opportunities in the San Diego area.
  • Collaborate with internal teams including BD colleagues, technical experts, and senior management to establish and expand key accounts.
  • Achieve sales revenue targets for new and existing accounts, demonstrating exceptional deal-closing capabilities.
  • Cultivate long-term client relationships , ensuring client satisfaction and fostering partnerships.
  • Effectively utilize CRM tools to manage and track the sales pipeline, providing insights for forecasting and decision-making.
  • Represent ChemPartner at industry meetings, conferences, and events, showcasing the company’s expertise and capabilities.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management, technical leaders, and the global BD team, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and the competitive landscape to identify potential opportunities and threats.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Science; a PhD is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience; sales experience in the Biotech or Pharma industry is essential. CRO business development experience is highly desirable.
  • Proven track record of success in generating new business and meeting sales targets.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients and colleagues.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and assess business opportunities effectively.
  • Strategic thinking ability, with the capacity to develop and implement successful business development plans.
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and collaborative, with a commitment to excellence.
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally.
