This is a senior individual contributor role in the Search engineering team, responsible for real-time search services, eBays proprietary C++ search engine (Cassini), and data indexing/distribution. The platform also functions as a high-speed datastore for all inventory data used across eBay.
The ideal candidate will have built internet-scale search, database, or filesystem platforms enabling innovative product experiences. They should ensure the company remains forward-thinking in technical competencies like scalability, quality, robustness, resilience, and efficiency.
The role involves providing technical leadership, influencing adoption of solutions, and collaborating across teams. As Search is critical to eBays success, this leader will represent eBays Search capabilities internally and externally.
