Schedule: Tuesday- Saturday, 9:00 AM start – mid-day break – work through dinner
Accommodation: Private 2-bedroom, 2-bath apartment provided on the property
Compensation: $170,000/year DOE

An easy-going family in McLean, VA seeks an experienced Domestic Couple to oversee the daily operations, care, and hospitality of their primary residence. While the home is formal in style, the principals maintain a relaxed, down-to-earth atmosphere and value discretion, warmth, and reliability. The ideal couple will bring a hands-on approach- comfortable balancing housekeeping, meal preparation, property care, and pet support- with a shared focus on maintaining a well-run, inviting household.

Responsibilities: 

• Perform detailed housekeeping and daily cleaning of all household areas
• Manage laundry, ironing, and linen rotation; maintain wardrobe organization
• Prepare breakfast and dinner daily; plan simple menus (simple, classic American fare- eggs, chicken, salads, and light home-style dishes) and maintain grocery inventory
• Set and clear table for family meals; assist with occasional entertaining
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness, appliances, and pantry organization
• Oversee seasonal décor, flower arrangements, and household presentation
• Handle light maintenance: changing filters and bulbs, polishing fixtures, keeping outdoor areas tidy
• Manage garbage, recycling, and household supply inventory
• Support family transportation needs (airport drop-offs, errands, vendor access)
• Care for dogs: feeding, walking, coordinating vet or grooming appointments as needed. (One sweet, small dog resides in the home full-time, with one or two additional family dogs dropped off during the workweek.)
• Oversee pool and patio upkeep; sweep walkways and outdoor furniture areas
• Coordinate with external vendors and service providers for home repairs or deliveries
• Ensure security procedures are followed (locking up, alarms, lighting routines)

Ideal Candidates:

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in a private residence as a domestic couple.
• Team-oriented, organized, and proactive
• Comfortable in a service environment but with relaxed principals
• Confident with simple American cooking and hospitality standards
• Pet-friendly and flexible for evening hours
• Reliable, discreet, and respectful of household privacy
