A contract opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support a school district in Franklin, TN, covering a maternity leave from March 25th through May 13th. This role requires proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and the ability to facilitate effective communication for deaf and hard-of-hearing students in an educational setting.

Location: Franklin, TN
Duration: Contract, March 25th May 13th (Leave coverage)

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide accurate and clear interpretation between students, teachers, and staff using ASL
• Support communication access during classroom instruction, school events, and meetings
• Facilitate understanding of educational materials and social interactions for deaf and hard-of-hearing students
• Maintain confidentiality and professional ethics at all times
• Collaborate with educators and support personnel to meet students communication needs

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Sign Language Interpreter, preferably in a school or educational environment
• Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) with excellent interpreting skills
• Knowledge of educational terminology and appropriate interpreting protocols
• Ability to engage effectively with children and educational staff
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail
