Job Description

This opportunity is for experienced Sign Language Interpreters to provide dedicated 1:1 onsite support for K-12 students in an educational setting. Serving from ASAP through May 2026, this contract position offers approximately 37.5 hours per week working directly with students to facilitate communication, enhance learning experiences, and support educational success.

Location: Perry, GA
Duration: Contract through the current school year (CSY)

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality sign language interpretation to support student learning and engagement in classroom settings
• Collaborate with educators and support staff to ensure effective communication access throughout the school day
• Adapt interpreting strategies to meet individual student needs and maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times
• Provide consistent, reliable support ensuring students have equitable opportunities for participation

Qualifications:

• Hold or be eligible for Georgia Educational Interpreter certification through the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (PSC)
• Minimum of 3.5 on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) or hold National Interpreter Certification (NIC)
• Experience interpreting in K-12 educational environments highly preferred
• Strong understanding of Deaf culture and educational interpreting practices
