Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and personable Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join our dental team. The EFDA will support the dentist in delivering high-quality patient care by performing advanced chairside duties, placing and finishing restorations, and ensuring smooth patient flow. This role requires clinical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a strong commitment to patient comfort and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist dentist during examinations and treatment procedures.
• Place and finish dental restorations (fillings), including amalgam and composite.
• Take, pour, and trim dental impressions and fabricate temporary crowns.
• Apply sealants, fluoride, and desensitizing agents as directed.
• Take digital radiographs and maintain accurate patient records.
• Prepare and sterilize instruments, equipment, and treatment rooms.
• Provide patient education on oral hygiene, post-op care, and preventive practices.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and infection-control guidelines.
• Support front office and team members as needed to maintain efficient patient care.

Qualifications:

• Current Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) certification/license in Ohio.
• Dental Radiology Certification.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
