GENERAL - The Simi Valley Unified School District is seeking a full-time CTE Athletic Training Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year to support the Sports Medicine Pathway at both Royal High School and Simi Valley High School.
This program blends classroom learning with real-world experience through supervised internships. The teacher will deliver instruction at each site in both Sports Medicine I and II courses and provide oversight for internship/practicum hours.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES - The CTE Athletic Training Teacher will be responsible for delivering instruction in Sports Medicine I and II, following the Career Technical Education (CTE) Model Curriculum Standards within the Health Science and Medical Technology industry sector. In addition to classroom teaching, the teacher will supervise hands-on internship and practicum hours, providing students with real-world experience as athletic trainers. The role also includes delivering first aid and immediate injury response during practices and athletic events, supporting student-athletes through injury prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation. The teacher will design individualized rehabilitation and reconditioning programs and collaborate closely with a classified athletic trainer to ensure consistent support for students at both school sites. Accurate recordkeeping of student progress in alignment with CTE standards is also an essential component of this position.
