About the Job: The Individual Giving Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring young people in the Bay Area are prepared for work and life by securing annual and midlevel gifts. Working in partnership with Director of Development, the Individual Giving Manager designs and executes strategic initiatives to identify, cultivate, and steward individual donors, fostering deep connections between supporters and New Door. The position will have the opportunity to lead special projects to secure and increase revenue, support leadership in their engagement of donors, and shape the process that strengthens our development efforts. This position is exempt, full-time, and is primarily located on-site at New Door’s headquarters. New Door Ventures employs a hybrid work location policy, with a 3:2 office/remote cadence. New Door’s spacious three-story building in the Mission District of San Francisco is a comfortable and welcoming space, equipped to keep staff and clients protected from transmission of infectious disease. Office space is open-plan and shared with a collaborative, respectful team. What Success Looks Like: Reporting to the Director of Development, the ideal candidate will be a highly skilled, self-motivated, and accountable leader with demonstrated effectiveness in managing, stewarding, and soliciting individual donors, comfortable working in a collaborative and innovative work environment, superior communication and interpersonal skills, and a commitment to advancing economic mobility for opportunity youth. Primary Responsibilities Individual Giving Identify, cultivate, and steward midlevel ($1K-$4,999K) and annual fund donors (>$1K) as well as prospects capable of making a gift of this level and higher.; manage a portfolio of about 200 individuals. Oversee and manage the annual fund and mid-level communications calendar, ensuring any monthly and quarterly communications are developed to engage current and prospective donors. In partnership with the Director of Development and CEO, support stewardship and pipeline meetings through strategy, tracking, and administrative support. Led the execution of New Door’s year-end fundraising appeal, managing logistics and working with the Communications Manager to create fundraising communication and assets. Plan and implement events and stewardship/cultivation activities (tours, receptions, friend-raisers, etc.) for portfolio Manage donor records, enter notes, and actions, including supporting CEO with stewardship and tracking Partner with the Director of Development in the planning and executing annual fundraisers, including Board member salon events. Work with the Development Coordinator to prepare and provide regular qualitative and quantitative reporting and analysis, highlighting areas of opportunities and needs for support to present to Development Committee, Board, and leadership Support the Director of Development in providing guidance to the Board and development team as needed. Preferred Qualifications & Skills: 3+ years of experience in fund development, with emphasis on individual giving or annual fund development. A passion for fundraising, motivated by our mission and aligned with our values. Familiar with communities to which New Door delivers programming and understanding of the workforce development landscape in the Bay Area. An inspirational leader with exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills. An organized and strategic thinker, comfortable with oversight and project management and high attention to detail and strong organizational skills. A self-starter with strong problem-solving skills. Proficient in appropriate computer and reporting systems including Windows operating system, Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook), Salesforce, and Mailchimp. Event planning experience preferred. Compensation Our Philosophy and Process: At New Door Ventures, we value our staff and strive to provide competitive compensation packages to attract and retain top talent in our sector. Salary ranges are organized by level, and staff competency is rated on a five-point scale from novice to mastery. Individual Giving Manager is a level 3 position, and the salary range for that level is $69,700 (novice) – $94,300 (mastery). Candidate offers will be made within that range dependent on demonstrated competency achieved and readiness for the position. Compensation is reviewed annually.
