This position is part of the IT Project Management Office (IT PMO) supporting Allina Health. The IT PMO is comprised of project managers and business analysts. The IT PMO provides the following services: project management of medium to large projects, project coordination of smaller projects, project onboarding/readiness, gathering business requirements, and organizational change management.

As a Project Manager in the IT PMO, you will plan, organize, and manage medium or large projects (up to $1 million) projects using project management methodology and tools for successful performance consistent with contractual agreements. Supports deliverable tracking and management reporting. Oversee key project planning, execution and monitoring deliverables including project schedule plan, projections, cost plan, and other subsidiary plans as components of the overall project or program management plan. Mentors Project Manager IT and PMO Associate employees.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provides project management support
  • Develops, leads, and manages projects utilizing project management methodology and tools
  • Organizes, plans, estimates, and schedules assigned projects and tasks
  • Assesses, evaluates, and recommends technical and business solutions
  • Evaluates vendor product offerings and leads selection process
  • Develops, negotiates, and implements project prioritization processes
  • Balances resource requirements to determine project staffing needs
  • Facilitates the development, negotiation, and management of associated contracts
  • Guides large group working sessions and stakeholder meetings
  • Oversees quality management
  • Develops standards for project deliverables
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers and vendors
  • Facilitates gathering customer requirements
  • Ensures customer expectations are managed
  • Monitors financial resources
  • Forecasts, develops, and manages project capital and operating budgets
  • Assists in the development of return on investment (ROI) analysis
  • Supports staff development
  • Develops and implements project team development
  • Adjust staffing requirements and assignments in a matrix environment
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive experience managing IT projects and process improvement in a health care environment
  • Experience with technical implementations, software upgrades, Epic Software
  • MS project experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Associate in Project Management
  • Project Management Professional or equivalent preferred within one year of hire
  • 2+ years of leadership experience
  • Demonstrated ability to determine the IT needs for new hospital buildouts, understanding regulatory requirements

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $71,200 to $127,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
