A global food distribution company is currently seeking a Japanese/English Bilingual Buyer / Purchasing Coordinator to support their office in the Newark, NJ area. This is a full-time, direct hire onsite position.

Japanese/English Bilingual Buyer / Purchasing Coordinator Responsibilities :

• Negotiate with venders for price, delivery and quality, etc
• Research new venders and develop new connection for comparison
• Perform recordkeeping for purchasing department
• Keep in touch with custom brokers to get most updated cargo receiving-schedules
• Perform data analysis related to purchasing activities to support decision making process
• Conduct market research to identify potential vendors and market trends
• Generate reports, purchase orders, import permit, shipping documents and so on
• Regularly update company’s database with order details (dates, vendors, quantities, discounts)
• Keep immaculate records and documentation for purchasing orders, invoices, contracts and so on
• Other duties as assigned

Japanese/English Bilingual Buyer / Purchasing Coordinator Requirements:

• 1-3 years of experience in purchasing role
• Fluent in English and able to speak Japanese in a professional level
• Basic knowledge in Japanese food culture
• At least Associate’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field or equivalent experience
• Strong leadership skills in team environment and skills to bring positive atmosphere to the team
• Ability to be flexible to work effectively with wide variety of people and to work responsibly and effectively in a multicultural environment
• Excellent communication (Speaking, Writing, Reading, Listening) and presentation skills
• Ability to multi-task and perform duties time efficiently
• Team-worker, Detail-oriented, Responsible, Punctual, Self-motivated
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel
