Kiewit - Project Engineer - Multiple Locations Requisition ID: 175237 Job Level: Senior Level Home District/Group: Cherne District Department: Project Engineering Market: Industrial Employment Type: Full Time Position Overview As an EPC Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the administrative and technical aspects of constructing a project, managing a team of field and cost engineers. You will be the main conduit of information between the project manager and the team for technical, cost, and schedule information. You will have the opportunity to develop the people below you with a succession plan to project management. District Overview Cherne Contracting is one of Kiewit’s oldest districts, founded in 1916. Cherne is well known for safety and quality of execution in projects within the oil, gas, industrial, and chemical sectors. Responsibilities Develop a complete understanding of contract plans and specifications. Examine/inspect field conditions and identify problems, inaccuracies, and cost-saving measures. Inspect subordinates’ work for compliance with contract plans and specifications. Develop and maintain the project master schedule using appropriate techniques and scheduling software. Manage document control; receive and log new issue drawings and other contract documents. Review new issue drawings and contract documents for change of conditions. Prepare monthly cost projections and quarterly cash flow projections. Improve project operations by recommending better methods, staffing, and procedural changes. Act as managing project engineer/coordinator on multiple projects. Read and understand plans and specifications. Manage and support the project team. Help drive the company environmental health and safety programs at the project level. Qualifications Undergraduate degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or equivalent. 5-10+ years’ work experience in construction or engineering. Experience managing engineers. Ability to read, analyze, and identify discrepancies on engineering plans, specifications, and contract documents. Strong work ethic and commitment to ethics and integrity. Passion for safety. Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail. Competent in the use of computer software applications including Microsoft Office. Ability to travel and/or relocate as needed. Other Requirements Regular, reliable attendance. Work productively and meet deadlines. Communicate effectively and professionally. Perform work safely and effectively. Work during normal operating hours and overtime as required. May work at various different locations. Base Compensation: $116,000/yr - $121,000/yr (Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location).
