Job Title

About your role:

You will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and functionality of our mainframe applications. By designing and executing detailed test plans, identifying and documenting defects, and collaborating closely with development teams, they ensure our applications meet the highest standards and specifications. This role is essential in maintaining the integrity and performance of our mainframe systems, supporting Fiserv's mission to enhance the financial services experience for our clients.

What you'll do:

• Perform testing activities including planning, design, scripting, and execution, also Develop and implement test automation strategies using various automation tools.
• Execute manual testing processes for software applications running on mainframe environments, and use testing tools like HP ALM, Jira, or other test management systems for test execution and defect tracking.
• Conduct post-testing execution phase activities such as error debugging, reporting needs, and internal and external communications.
• Provide accurate test estimates and allocate resources for testing activities.
• Apply comprehensive knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, and other SDLC methodologies to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness and generate and maintain documentation related to test plans, cases, results, and defects.
• Work with COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS, and other mainframe technologies, utilize CA-7 scheduling to manage and run mainframe jobs effectively.
• Communicate with project managers, clients, and other developers to design cohesive project strategies and ensure effective collaboration throughout all phases of development, testing, and deployment.
• Lead and facilitate test planning and quality review sessions and participate in daily standup calls for discussion of testing status, defects, and general test management.

What you'll need to have:

• 4+ years of experience in manual testing and developing automation scripts.
• 4+ years of experience with mainframe systems and using tools such as JCL, batch processing, and configuration management tools.
• 4+ years of experience in software testing, with a focus on mainframe systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, work, and military experience.

Experience that would be great to have:

• 4+ years of experience in test management tools for test planning, execution, and bug tracking.
• 4+ years of experience with Agile, Waterfall, and other SDLC methodologies.
• 3+ years of Payment System experience.
• In-depth knowledge of mainframe testing.
• Experience with utilizing CA-7 scheduler.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
