We are excited to announce that we are looking for a Full-Time Medical Receptionist at our Gastrointestinal Care of Long Island's office in Massapequa, NY.

The Medical Receptionist responsibilities are:

• Liaison between physician and patient
• Makes, reschedules and cancels appointments.
• Checks out patients by scheduling office visits or procedures, and providing instructions as per protocol. Prints and reviews procedure preps, lab and radiology orders, and obtains discharge signature from adult accompanying patient to procedure.
• Scans record and documents into EHR. Checks fax out box daily for failed fax messages and corrects. Searches patient information via EHR and verifies demographic information for accuracy and HIPAA compliance.
• Answer and direct telephone calls appropriately in a professional and courteous manner. Takes clear, accurate messages, documents telephone messages in EHR, and assigns to appropriate Staff or Physician. Returns Patient phone calls for test results as per physician's instructions and documents accordingly.

The Medical Receptionist must have the following qualifications and experience:

• High School graduate or GED.
• 1 to 2 year of medical office experience
• Prior experience with Athena or other EHR preferred
