Mid-Level Substation Engineer - Kiewit Power Delivery Location: Portland, OR, US; Salt Lake City, UT, US Requisition ID: 174409 Job Level: Mid Level Home District/Group: Kiewit Power Engineering Market: Power Employment Type: Full Time Position Overview We are currently looking for a motivated Substation Engineer to join our growing Substation and Transmission Line Design team! As part of the team of highly specialist design professionals, you will support a variety of substation, transmission, and distribution projects ranging from 12kV to 500kV. We are supporting both engineering design and EPC projects for clients throughout the country. District Overview Kiewit Power Delivery is a full-service engineering and construction solutions provider operating across North America. Our experience and expertise span all aspects of the transmission and distribution market from high voltage overhead and underground transmission to distribution and automation design and construction capabilities. With these broad capabilities, we operate in the electric utility, renewable energy, industrial, and oil and gas markets. Responsibilities Work with the project team to create all design documents and drawings, including one and three-line diagrams, protection and control schematics, communications diagrams, wiring diagrams, substation layout plans, and section and detail drawings. Specification development for the procurement, installation, and testing of substation equipment. Apply engineering application software to complete engineering tasks such as ground grid design, equipment sizing, relay coordination, and electrical studies. Communicate and coordinate project activities with project lead, customer representatives, and other stakeholders. Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university At least 2 years of experience performing engineering-related duties preferred Knowledge of engineering standards, including NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE, and ANSI Strong written and verbal communication skills; fluent in the English language Legally able to work in the United States for any length of time Other Requirements:

  • Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.
