Are you passionate about helping others through their recovery journey? SeaView Community Services is seeking a dedicated Peer Support Specialist to join our Recovery Center team in beautiful Seward, Alaska—a community surrounded by mountains and ocean, where your work can truly make a difference.
As a Peer Support Specialist, you will use your lived experience with substance use recovery to provide hope, encouragement, and guidance to individuals navigating similar challenges. You’ll be part of a compassionate, multidisciplinary team committed to person-centered care.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide peer-to-peer support to clients in our 3.5 Residential, PHP, and Recovery Housing programs.
Share personal experiences of recovery to inspire hope and model healthy behavior and coping skills.
Support clients in developing recovery goals, building social connections, and accessing community resources.
Facilitate recovery groups and activities.
Document services in compliance with agency and grant standards.
Self-identify as a person with lived experience in recovery.
Current Peer Support Certification or ability to obtain upon hire (training will be provided).
Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting and maintain healthy boundaries.
Strong communication and active listening skills.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
