Job Description

Jake Wilson for Mayor of Somerville is hiring a full-time campaign manager to help him win office. The campaign manager will implement and execute existing programs to build the grassroots organization necessary to win. 

Hours and Salary: $3500/month 40 hours/week, 50 hours/week during Get Out the Vote (GOTV)

In this position you will: 

• Manage the entire campaign from day to day, execution to strategy.
• Oversee goals within the program in conjunction with candidate and kitchen cabinet.
• Hire and manage an internship program.
• Organize and execute fundraising events.
• Determine the candidate’s daily schedule.
• Organize and execute daily voter contact events.

Key Qualifications: 

• Strong commitment to progressive Democratic politics and ideals and enthusiasm for electing Jake Wilson
• One cycle of organizing experience and at least some staff management experience is preferred. 
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Willingness to manage a diverse team with different experiences and perspectives, and a commitment to helping them grow and succeed.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, changing work environment.
• Ability to work in a high-pressure, on-call environment.
• Candidates must be self-motivated and willing to work long hours, including nights and weekends as needed.

Desired (not required): 

• Social Media & Newsletter Management (Graphic Design & Content Creation)
• Familiarity with Somerville geographic area and strong community ties
• A valid driver’s license and reliable motor vehicle.
