Job Description

Production Manager: Role Description/Responsibilities

· Approximately 40%- Management and Development of Production Personnel

· Bi-weekly 1-1 meetings with the Shop Foreman and Graphic Artist.

· Bi-weekly small group meetings with all other production staff.

· Bi-weekly production payroll.

· Oversee training and continuous improvement of production staff.

· Recruiting, interviewing, and hiring production staff for roles pre-approved by Signatures’ leadership.

Understand and complete the onboarding process for new hires.

· Labor planning and employee scheduling.

· Manage employee relations to resolve internal conflict, prepare for employee absences, and assign daily tasks.

· Supervise and evaluate performance of production personnel and conduct annual reviews.

· Approximately 30%- Measure, Monitor, and Enhance Production Floor Performance Output

· Update production metrics including number of decorations, missed shipments, machine output, scrap/yield, etc.

· Enforce health and safety precautions.

· Create, update, and maintain documented standard operating procedures for all production processes related to shipping, receiving, and embroidery/print order processing.

· Oversee the maintenance and enhancement of production machinery including but not limited to: embroidery machines, shipping equipment, heat presses, and specialty print equipment.

Plan for machine downtime and minimize impact.

· Develop action items to address quality or output issues and maximize team performance in these areas. Adhere to a 99% quality requirement at all times.

· Complete monthly inventory and maintain records of historical inventory counts in requested format.

· Perform a quarterly inventory audit and store audit records.

· Approximately 10%- Leadership Liaison and Strategic Goal Implementation

· Report floor capacity to Signatures’ leadership team.

· Project overtime costs, gain leadership approval, and plan weekend workdays.

· Present project proposals for efficiency enhancements, estimate and gain approval on budgets, report on timelines, and re-negotiate as necessary.

· Attend regularly scheduled meetings with leadership to understand the company’s strategic plan pertaining to production and complete personal action items related to the execution of defined goals.

· Communicate across departments with appropriate contacts in written and verbal format as necessary.

· Provide updates on available resources, such as supplies and labor.

· Approximately 20%- Other Duties as Assigned

Core Competencies/Skills Required

· Must be comfortable and competent working on a computer.

o Regularly required to utilize Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

Must be accurate and comfortable creating Pivot tables, using basic Excel formulas (i.e. V-lookup), filtering, sorting and general formatting.

o Regularly required to quickly access various pieces of information stored in internal server.

o Able to quickly grasp new computer-based skills with support.

o Quick and accurate typing.

· Must be highly organized, self-sufficient and display good attention to detail.

o Will be responsible for a team of up to 18 employees.

o Will be required to manage a fast-paced workload.

o Regularly required to follow steps in established processes and generalize the skills necessary to complete these processes across tasks.

o Should be resourceful and comfortable problem solving without constant support.

· Must have strong and professional communication skills (email, phone and in person) and be comfortable interacting with many people (both internal team and external customers).

o Will be expected to be consistently responsive to team and customer needs.

· Must have experience in a manufacturing facility.

· Must have good multi-tasking and prioritization skills and be able to juggle many projects with many different deadlines on an ongoing basis.

· Flexible, co-working space.

· Expected to be in the office 7a – 5p.

· Spanish speaking preferred but not required.
