Position Summary:

We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Food Production Team Members to join our dynamic organization.

You will be responsible for various aspects of food processing and production, ensuring that all products meet our high standards of quality and safety. You will play a vital role in maintaining compliance with food safety regulations and contributing to a positive customer experience.

Scheduled hours for this 1st shift position are 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday. The pay rate starts from $18.50 - $20.00/hr.

Overtime Notice: Overtime may be required and can be scheduled before and/or after regular weekday shifts, as well as on weekends. Overtime may be voluntary or mandatory, depending on business needs.

Job Responsibilities:

Machine Operation:

  • Operate and oversee complex production machinery, including mixers, fillers, sealers, and packaging systems.
  • Configure and optimize machine settings for varied production runs, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.
  • Mentor and train junior operators on machinery operation and best practices.

Production Oversight and Optimization:

  • Monitor the production line's performance, making real-time adjustments to improve efficiency and product quality.
  • Analyze production data and identify trends to proactively address potential issues and optimize processes.
  • Ensure that all production activities are executed in accordance with the established procedures and company policies.

Maintenance:

  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment, including cleaning, lubrication, and troubleshooting minor issues.

Quality Control and Compliance:

  • Comply with and advocate stringent quality control procedures to ensure product consistency and safety.
  • Conduct in-depth inspections and audits of products and processes, taking corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations, industry standards, and internal quality benchmarks.
  • Complete and maintain accurate records of documented inspections, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.

Safety and Regulatory Adherence:

  • Ensure rigorous adherence to all safety protocols and procedures, and support safety initiatives on the production floor.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and implement corrective actions to address potential hazards.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Contribute to initiatives to enhance production processes, reduce waste, and increase operational efficiency.

Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor or production manager to support the team and ensure efficient operations.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Mechanical aptitude and expertise in troubleshooting equipment.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of food safety practices/regulations and sanitation standards.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members. 
  • Ability to follow instructions and adhere to food production processes. 
  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.

Education & Experience:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a food processing or production environment is preferred but not required. Experience in a kitchen, food service, or manufacturing environment is a plus. Experience with food preparation or handling is beneficial. Familiarity with food safety standards, including HACCP and GMP practices is helpful.
  • Certifications: Food safety certifications (e.g., ServSafe) are a plus, but not required.

Work Environment:

Production facility setting. 

  • Must wear required PPE while in all manufacturing areas. 
  • Moving parts and machinery are present in the plant. 
  • Noise levels will vary, higher noise levels exist while in the plant operations areas. 

Physi cal Demands:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 50lbs over an entire shift.
  • Ability to physically perform repetitive motions of grasping, lifting, pulling, pushing, crouching, kneeling, and reaching.
  • Ability to work in a hot, humid environment when performing sanitation tasks.
  • Ability to use knives to cut open bags and dump 50lb bags at a high frequency.
