Job Description

Redwood Electric Group is seeking a skilled Project Manager to lead construction projects from start to finish. This role oversees budgeting, cost management, procurement, and coordination with contractors, vendors, and clients to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. The ideal candidate has strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and manage all aspects of project operations, including labor, procurement, budgeting, and cost control.
  • Serve as the primary contact for general contractors, owners, and end users, maintaining strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare and process RFIs, oversee change orders, and maintain clear documentation to support project communication and progress.
  • Coordinate schedules and activities with field teams, subcontractors, vendors, and EPC partners to ensure seamless workflow.
  • Review drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements, safety standards, and company procedures.
  • Monitor installation progress, resolve site issues, and ensure adherence to deadlines, NEC compliance, and safety protocols.
  • Support design/build projects by collaborating with design teams as needed to achieve project goals.
  • Manage renewable energy project scopes, including solar PV systems, battery energy storage (BESS), and structural PV canopies.
  • Oversee project phases involving energy and financial modeling to support feasibility, budgeting, and performance forecasting.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven experience with estimating, cost management, procurement, and scheduling for electrical construction projects.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Ability to analyze issues, develop solutions, and drive positive project outcomes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe, and Bluebeam.
  • Experience managing renewable energy projects, including solar PV, BESS, and structural PV canopy installations.
  • Knowledge of energy modeling, financial modeling, and renewable energy best practices.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required; degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the electrical construction industry as a Field Engineer and/or Estimator.
  • Prior project management experience in the renewable energy sector is strongly preferred.

Working Conditions

  • This position is based in our Santa Clara office and is not eligible for remote work.
  • Work may be performed in an office or on active job sites, depending on role and project needs.
  • Office work includes sitting, typing, and using a computer for extended periods.
  • Field environments may involve walking, standing, bending, or lifting materials (up to 30 lbs).
  • Noise levels range from quiet (office) to high (job sites).
  • May require occasional travel to project locations or meetings.
