Job Description

Our client located in Doraville, GA is looking for a Quality Systems & Control Specialist.

Pay: $30/hr - $40/hr

Direct-Hire

This role combines quality systems oversight with hands-on laboratory testing and compliance responsibilities. The role includes active participation in audits, documentation control, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate thrives in a lab environment, demonstrates meticulous attention to detail, and is comfortable with both technical systems and manual testing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Systems & Compliance:

  • Assist in maintaining and improving the company’s Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Monitor compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100 standards.
  • Participate in internal quality audits, certification audits, and regulatory inspections.
  • Support and maintain documentation including policies, procedures, release forms, test reports, and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate and manage customer scorecards and internal feedback on quality performance.
  • Participate in Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) activities.
  • Coordinate change management for updates to raw materials and products.
  • Conduct audits related to hazardous waste controls and ensure OSHA and HazMat compliance.

Quality Control Testing & Lab Support:

  • Prepare, inspect, and test raw materials and manufactured products per customer specs and work instructions.
  • Verify Certificates of Analysis for all incoming raw materials.
  • Conduct physical and mechanical property tests including compression, shear, peel, viscosity, durometer, and burn testing.
  • Operate and maintain lab equipment such as digital balances, viscometers, hydraulic press, and testing frames.
  • Collect and retain product samples for each manufactured batch.
  • Maintain and update QC logs and batch documentation accurately.
  • Ensure that lab procedures, equipment, and materials comply with company standards.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and provide backup support to QC staff as needed.
  • Complete Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts and maintain scale calibration records.

Continuous Improvement & Team Collaboration:

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the quality function.
  • Train and mentor junior technicians when necessary.
  • Work cross-functionally with departments, vendors, and software reps to resolve discrepancies and improve SDS compliance.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment following all applicable standards and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma required
  • Quality Control experience,
  • Two- or 4-year degree in associated discipline is a plus
  • Technical school a plus.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in chemical manufacturing preferred.
  • ASQ training or certification preferred.
  • Machining experience a plus.
