Senior Electrical Designer - Kiewit Power Engineers Location: Houston, TX, US Remote, US Requisition ID: 175444 Job Level: Senior Level Home District/Group: Kiewit Power Engineering Market: Power Employment Type: Full Time Position Overview Kiewit Engineering Group, Inc is a full-service consulting and engineering firm serving the infrastructure and engineering markets. Our combined staff of more than 3,000 engineers and design professionals have expertise that spans all major engineering disciplines to serve transportation, power, water/wastewater, mining, building, and oil, gas & chemical markets. Our rapidly growing Power district, which includes structural, civil, piping, mechanical, process, process safety, electrical, instrument and control disciplines, is a multi-faceted division of Kiewit with best-in-class technical expertise focused on the EPC delivery model for power facilities. Responsibilities Utilize applicable engineering national and local codes. Design duct bank, embedded conduit, cable tray, grounding and lighting systems from concept to completion utilizing engineering documents, sketches or vendor data. Generate raceway, lighting and power plan, section and perspective drawings from the 3D model. Reports project progression updates and/or issues to project lead team. Coordinates with project team by utilizing the Project Database: Request for Review Process, Holds List, ECN, Request for information from other disciplines, and all other applicable functions. Develops 3D models utilizing drawings, sketches, and design skills. Routes electrical cables in a 3D environment to generate a cable schedule. Model electrical components using vendor submittals and electrical designs. Perform calculations to check allowable fill in conduits and cable tray systems according to NEC requirements. Creates plan drawings and details for electrical deliverables. Analyze, inspect, and construct designs while adhering to electrical quality standards and department procedures. Checks design for consistency, safety, operability, and maintenance requirements before submitting to checking. Completes miscellaneous tasks to support project development. Acts as a field resource to assist construction in field resolution on issues. Qualifications At least 12+ years’ experience in electrical Design and/or Drafting with recent experience with Electrical Physical Design (and circuit and raceway). Highly proficient with 2D CADD, SP3D, Intergraph Smart, Revit. 3D electrical modeling design is a PLUS. Ability to work in a fast paced and multi-discipline team environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Other Requirements:
