Under the general supervision of the Director of Recipient Rights, the Senior Recipient Rights Investigator (RRI) will be responsible for advocating for recipients and recipient services in the Crisis Care Services Unit at the Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network (DWIHN). Employees in this classification also make recommendations for improvements to the rights protection system and may serve as a team-lead for lower-level RR Investigators.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
A Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university in a Human Services, Social Services (i.e. Sociology, Psychology, Social Work), Public Health, Public Administration, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Three (3) years of full-time paid investigative work experience in human rights and/or criminal justice.
AND
One (1) year of full-time paid experience working in an environment where mental health services have been provided.
REQUIRED LICENSE(S).
A valid State of Michigan Driver's License with a safe and acceptable driving record.
NOTE: Employees are required to have an operable vehicle available during work hours.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS:
The Basic Skills Training curriculum is a mandatory training program for staff in Michigan who provide recipient rights services. The curriculum is designed by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Office of Recipient Rights. The training consists of two parts:
Staff must complete the Basic Skills Training curriculum within the first 90 days of employment.
WORKING CONDITIONS :
Work is usually performed in an office setting but requires the employee to drive to different sites throughout Wayne County and the State of Michigan.
This position is an on-site position.
Employees in this classification may be required to work nights and weekends.
