Nationwide Therapy Group is seeking a travel nurse RN Stepdown for a travel nursing job in Jackson, Tennessee.

Position Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering high-quality, compassionate care by developing and adhering to individualized nursing care plans. The RN provides supervision to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees to ensure safe and effective care delivery.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct a comprehensive nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission
• Develop and implement an individualized care plan based on assessment findings
• Identify teaching needs and coordinate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team
• Communicate patient status updates for Initial and Re-evaluation Team Conferences
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly
• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate
• Focus on patient/family education to support care and discharge planning
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission
• Communicate changes in patient status to physicians and the Charge Nurse
• Seek support from senior nursing staff for complex clinical decision-making
• Supervise, train, and delegate tasks appropriately to ancillary staff
• Ensure a safe personal and environmental space by following hospital policies
• Foster a calm, supportive, and collaborative unit environment
• Participate in team-building activities to maintain a positive workplace culture
• Report equipment and supply needs to nursing leadership
• Deliver care in a cost-effective manner while maintaining quality outcomes
• May assume charge nurse responsibilities following appropriate orientation
• Pursue professional development through continued education and self-study
• Prioritize time effectively to meet patient and unit needs
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills & Certifications:

Must be obtained prior to first shift

ACLS Certification (CIRH only)

Clinical Experience

Highly Desired

Minimum of 2 years of bedside experience

Required: BLS Certification, ACLS Certification (CIRH only). Preferred: Minimum two years of bedside clinical experience.
