Job Description

The Texas Public Policy Foundation (TPPF) is seeking a talented and mission-driven Videographer to record, edit, and deliver engaging, platform-ready video content that supports our communications, campaigns, and policy storytelling.

About TPPF:

The Texas Public Policy Foundation (TPPF) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit research-based think tank in Austin, Texas. Established in 1989, TPPF promotes conservative principles and develops free-market approaches to public policy challenges affecting Texans and all Americans. To achieve its mission, TPPF analyzes complex issues, creates legislative policy solutions, and advocates for those solutions at the Texas Legislature, Congress, and other public forums.

Life at TPPF:

The Foundation offers a unique opportunity to be part of an organization that shapes the future of Texas & beyond through innovative thought leadership. At TPPF, you will have the opportunity to be part of an engaged team whose mission is to create a freer future for all Texans and Americans. However, within our small team, a videographer will be expected to be able to take one project from start to finish.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Film and edit short?form and mid?form content (social reels/shorts, clips, event recaps, interviews).

  • Add and format captions/subtitles, on?screen text, and simple lower?thirds consistent with brand guidelines.

  • Perform basic audio cleanup (dialogue clarity/levels) and color correction for a polished finish.

  • Export deliverables to correct platform specs and maintain versioning as needed.

  • Maintain organized project files and media; follow team naming/storage conventions.

  • Receive and implement feedback quickly; collaborate closely with producers and stakeholders to hit deadlines.

  • Travel on occasion for shoots outside the office.

Qualifications:

  • A deep commitment to the principles of liberty, personal responsibility, and free enterprise.

  • 12 years of experience (internships/portfolio work welcome); portfolio required.

  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro (DaVinci Resolve and Final Cut Pro acceptable with strong portfolio).

  • Solid editorial judgment (story clarity, pacing, attention to detail).

  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and thrive in a fast?paced environment.

  • Strong communication and a team?first, solutions?oriented attitude.

Benefits at TPPF:

TPPF values our team members and strives to provide a comprehensive benefits package so that our people can focus on achieving the mission. We offer competitive salaries and excellent health insurance, for staff & dependents. In addition, we have generous Paid Time Off (PTO) policies, including holidays and parental leave, and retirement contribution matching.
