The Black History Foundation | Remote | Volunteer Position

Are you passionate about empowering the African diaspora and promoting cultural preservation? Do you have marketing skills and a creative vision to inspire global audiences? The Black History Foundation is seeking a Volunteer Marketing Coordinator to join our team and help elevate our message.

About Us:

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit committed to promoting and preserving the African narrative. Our mission is to empower the African diaspora—especially youth—by educating them about their history, culture, and heritage. Through digital innovation, historical preservation, and community engagement, we’re building a future where Black history is accurately represented and celebrated.

What You'll Do:

• Develop and execute marketing campaigns aligned with our fundraising and engagement goals.
• Manage social media content and build brand awareness across platforms.
• Coordinate promotional activities for events, educational programs, and donor campaigns.
• Collaborate with other volunteers, board members, and stakeholders to drive outreach.
• Assist in storytelling efforts—sharing the Foundation’s work through compelling visuals and narratives.

You’re a Great Fit If You:

• Have at least 1 year of experience in marketing, communications, or public relations (nonprofit experience is a plus).
• Are familiar with social media management tools and content creation platforms—or are willing to learn!
• Are organized, creative, and passionate about preserving Black history.
• Can commit 5–10 hours per week (flexible schedule).
