Summary

Telephone triage APRNs diagnose and treat acute, episodic, or chronic illness, independently or as part of a healthcare team. May focus on health promotion and disease prevention. APRNs work under the direct supervision of a physician unless the autonomous license is active.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Perform evaluations on patients using telehealth and ensure preventative procedures take place.
  2. Diagnose and treats illnesses or injuries.
  3. Prescribe medication under the direct supervision of the attending MD if apply.
  4. Order, performs, and interprets diagnostic tests.
  5. Counsel patients on diet, hygiene, and preventive healthcare.
  6. Implement a plan of treatment, including diagnostic studies results.
  7. Determine final diagnosis.
  8. Work with staff to ensure that the medical needs of the patients are met.
  9. Ensure that the patient meets the medical admission criteria.
  10. Act as liaison with other physicians.
  11. Participate in the Quality Assurance of the medical documentation.
  12. Participate in the utilization review of the billing process.
  13. Directly supervise the work of Disease management medical assistants.
  14. Keep medical record documentation according to the State and Federal regulations and their guidelines.
  15. Participate in preparation of super bills.
  16. Perform duties in honest and ethical manner.
  17. Follow workflows created for telephone triage.
  18. Work at the Medical Center level if needed including Saturdays
  19. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  1. Must be licensed to practice medicine in the state of Florida as an APRN.
  2. At least (1) years of experience as a licensed APRN.
  3. Foreign Doctor
  4. Experience with Telehealth
  5. Clinical Skills with adults and pediatric patients

  1. Use relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.
  2. Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines and standard accepted practices
  3. Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  4. Ability to work with individuals within and outside the organization, in professional and courteous manner.
  5. Must develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others.
  6. Understand written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
  7. Strong ability to use independent judgment and initiative.
  8. Organized and able to manage competing priorities.
  9. Resourcefulness in problem solving.
  10. Actively look for ways to help people.
  11. Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  12. Knowledge of medical terminology
  13. Must be extremely detail oriented.
  14. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  15. Knowledge of EHR.
  16. Bilingual skills preferred (English/Spanish or English/Creole)
  17. Must develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others.
