\n - The primary tasks include the welding of newly fabricated structural members and plating
\n - Other tasks include the welding of outfitting items such as electrical cableways, brackets, watertight hatches/doors and many other components in accordance with Module fabrication .
\n - All tasks require strict adherence to the company's safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.
\n - A structural welder should be able to read and utilize welding procedures and welding symbols.
\n - A structural welder should be able to safely and efficiently use an oxy-fuel torch to apply pre-heat to materials prior to welding.
\n - A structural welder should be able to safely and efficiently use air carbon arc gouging equipment to gouge welds.
\n - A structural welder should be able to safely and efficiently use electric and pneumatic grinders to prepare materials for welding, as well as to clean and contour finished welds.
\n - A structural welder should be able to use measuring tools and gauges to verify dimensions of weld joints in accordance with approved joint designs.
\n - A structural welder should be able to use weld gauges to verify weld size and quality in accordance with specifications.
\n - A structural welder should be able to utilize ceramic backing in the flat, horizontal, and vertical positions with the semi-automatic welding processes.
\n - A structural welder should be able to pass groove-weld qualification tests in all positions for multiple materials and processes, such as Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) and Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) of high strength steel and stainless steel, as well as Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW-Pulse) of aluminum and steel .
\n - Must be able to obtain DBIDS Access Card.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills \n - Demonstrate the ability to pass the following including FCAW with ceramic tape, single Vee and open butt in 2G and 3G positions.
\n - Demonstrate ability to perform GMAW pulse and spray arc in all positions.
\n - 3 to 5 years' experience in shop fabrication preferred.
\n - This position is for the 2 nd shift

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills \n - Must have a basic understanding of the Military standard 1688 and 1689 for surface and submarine fabrication.
\n - High School Diploma Graduate or GED Equivalency Certificate/Diploma.

Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $44720 - $78520
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
