Fire Alarm Technician

Join a leading Midwest fire protection company as a Fire Alarm System Installation Technician, installing, programming, and servicing advanced fire alarm systems for commercial clients. This hands-on role combines technical problem-solving, customer interaction, and ongoing training, ensuring every system meets top safety and quality standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Install and program control panels and fire alarm equipment per plans and layouts
• Mount sensors, route cabling, and access attics, crawlspaces, or other areas as needed
• Connect system components safely and per standards
• Educate customers on system operation and address questions
• Inspect and test systems to ensure proper function and compliance
• Review manuals, plans, and work orders for optimal installation
• Troubleshoot and repair system malfunctions, ordering and installing parts as needed
• Document all work per company procedures

Direct-hire, full-time field role. Company vehicle with fuel provided. No overnight travel.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• 3+ years installing/programming fire alarm systems (Edwards, Firelight, etc.)
• State-certified in Fire Alarm & Detection Equipment (or equivalent)
• Proficient with alarm panels
• Valid drivers license and clean record
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, lift 50 lbs, and operate hand/power tools safely

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Networking/security/CCTV experience
• CAD software knowledge
