The Polisher and Buffer - B operates polishing and buffing equipment to obtain the desired finish and luster on parts and products. Also operates forklifts and cranes to load and unload equipment.
Your Responsibilities:
Operate polishing and buffing equipment and other machines.
Select wheels, dressings and abrasives best suited for type of job.
May build up, glue, surface, dress and balance all types of wheels.
Apply and manipulate work to wheels exercising proper pressure and duration to polish, grind, glaze and buff using care to maintain contours, radii, close dimensions and relative shape.
Obtain even color buff on high grade plated parts or polished castings of intricate shape.
Layout and have work checked.
Work from drawings, specifications and job layouts.
Completed projects subject to final inspection.
May be required to work on other machining equipment at the discretion of the supervisor to meet production needs.
Your Profile:
Requires knowledge of polishing and buffing practices plus experience and judgment to obtain required finishes.
Completes routine maintenance on primary machines.
Knowledgeable in the use of forklifts, cranes and hand trucks.

Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or GED. 1 to 3 years of related experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as drawings and blueprints, instructions, schedules, procedures, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports or correspondence.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.

Ability to research drawings in drawing database program. Ability to use computer software to report labor on shop orders.
