Job Description: We are seeking a talented and efficient Cake Decorator to join our Peters' Bakery family. This role will focus exclusively on buttercream decoration, creating a high volume of beautiful cakes daily. If you are passionate about buttercream artistry, thrive in a fast-paced retail setting, and can consistently decorate 10 cakes per hour, we encourage you to apply. Experience with custom hand-drawn buttercream art is highly desired and would be a significant asset to your application.
Required Job Skills:
* Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a cake decorator in a Retail or Wholesale Bakery setting.
* In-depth knowledge of color theory and mixing colors.
* Proven proficiency in various buttercream decorating techniques, including piping borders, rosettes, writing, and creating decorative flowers.
* Excellent script and print lettering skills.
* Strong communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.
* Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency.
* Able to decorate 10 cakes per hour.
* Availability requirements include; but are not limited to; days, evenings, weekends, & holidays. (Closed Sunday and Monday)
Preferred Job Skills:
* 2+ years working in a retail bakery or wholesale bakery
* Skilled Freehand Drawing and creating custom hand-drawn art using buttercream
* A portfolio showcasing your buttercream decorating skills and artistic abilities.
Responsibilities:
* Practice safe food handling procedures at all times.
* Decorate cakes, cupcakes and other baked goods.
* Assist the Bakery as needed.
Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:
* Stand for long periods of time; walk; frequent use of hands.
* Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
* Frequently lift and /or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
The position is full-time Tue-Sat. Working Fridays and Saturdays is required. The pay rate is $26.53/hr Plus tips.
